Cell C Launches 4G – Supposedly
Cell C has announced the launch of their new 4G network. Not quite 4G but definitely a big step up on the current infrastructure.
Cell C has actually launched an HSPA+ network and not 4G as they claim it be.
4G has an objective of a nominal data rate of 100Mbit/s while moving at high speed ( such as on a train) and 1Gbit/s while in a fixed position.
HSPA+ will allow for a theoretical speed of 57Mbit/s downlink and 22 Mbit/s uplink.
How will their competitors respond?
